1953 J. Fred Muggs Baker’s Coconut Camp Ad


J. Fred Muggs, the famous chimpanzee from the Today show in the 1950s appeared in a display ad for Baker’s Coconut in 1953 that advertised a “free summer in camp” for 18 lucky kids who make a dessert with Baker’s Coconut and write to Mr. Muggs why they’d like to go to camp. Muggs is dressed and ready for camp in the ad complete with a Camp Coconut trunk.
