Five Music Videos Set At Summer Camp

Hellogoodbye – “Here In Your Arms”
Hellogoodbye’s 2006 video for “Here (In Your Arms)” was set at the fictional Camp Holadios during the summer of 1991 and features members of the band, one of whom falls for a girl at camp.

Datarock – “Computer Camp Love”
It’s not quite traditional summer camp but this Datarock video set at a computer camp in 1984 gets points for capturing the summer camp romance with a cool retro ’80s vibe.

Childish Gambino – “Bonfire”
Campers wearing Camp Gambino T-shirts are seen in this video for “Bonfire,” a song off the Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover) album Camp, which closes with a monologue about the bus ride home from camp.

Mariah Carey – “Always Be My Baby”
The music video for Mariah Carey’s 1996 smash hit shows Carey swinging on a tire swing over a lake and by a campfire interspersed with a storyline of two campers sneaking out of their cabins at night to be together. Mariah Carey is no stranger to summer camp: the Fresh Air Fund named one of its camps, Camp Mariah, after her for her generous support of the nonprofit that provides summer camp opportunities for disadvantaged youth.

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – “Remember Me”
Florida band The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus went to summer camp for this music video released earlier this week for the song “Remember Me.” The video was filmed at Camp Indian Springs in Crawfordville, Fla., and features members of the band as camp counselors sporting Camp Indian Springs ringers.
