Actor Erich Bergen met ‘go-to’ friends at summer camp

Madam Secretary star Erich Bergen’s path to the stage and screen can be traced back to his first summer at the performing arts summer camp Stagedoor Manor in 1996.

“That’s where I learned everything,” he said in a recent interview with the LA Times. “The friends I met at the Stagedoor Manor are still my go-to friends. They are my brothers and sisters.”

The 29-year-old actor attended the Loch Sheldrake, New York camp for seven summers. He is best known for his role as Bob Gaudio in the 2014 biographical musical drama Jersey Boys and currently plays Blake Moran, personal assistant to the fictionalized Secretary of State (Téa Leoni), on the CBS television series Madam Secretary.

His other credits include Gossip Girl, Person of Interest, Childrens Hospital, Desperate Housewives, Franklin & Bash and the 2013 movie How Sweet It Is.
