Alamo Drafthouse screening summer camp movies at actual camp

Alamo Drafthouse and Do512 will be screening Wet Hot American Summer and Friday the 13th at an actual summer camp over Halloween weekend in an event being billed as a “haunted adult sleepaway camp.”

The so-called Camp Halloweekend event will be held at Camp Champions in Marble Falls, Texas October 30-31.

Wet Hot American Summer writer/director David Wain will be on hand to introduce the 2001 cult film and live music will be provided by Brown Sabbath, Whiskey Shivers and other Austin favorites.

Tickets are pricey at $350, but includes two overnight stays in a camp cabin, meals and beverages, access to all activities, concerts and screenings. Activities will include swimming, climbing walls, ropes courses, Ga Ga, archery, “arts and farts and crafts” and more.
