Amazon’s next pilot season to include ‘The Interestings’

Megan Wolitzer’s best-selling novel that follows a group of friends who meet at a summer arts camp in New England in the ’70s will be adapted into one of the pilots in contention for Amazon Studios next pilot season.

The Interestings was released in 2013 to great acclaim with its sweeping, decades-spanning story of friendship. Amazon ordered the pilot adaptation in early November. The book is being adapted for the television format by Lyn Greene and Richard Levine, whose credits include Nip/Tuck.

With its pilot season initiative, Amazon Studios produces a number of pilots it then makes available to viewers to watch and rate. The most recent pilot season, Amazon’s sixth, was launched November 5 with 12 pilots. Transparent and The Man in the High Castle are among the previous pilots that were picked up for full seasons.
