American Idol finalist Matt Rogers will be the host of USA Network’s Summer Camp reality show debuting at 8 p.m. on July 11 on the cable network.
Rogers, who is also a summer camp alum, was a finalist on season three of the singing competition. He will host the adult Color Wars-style competition show on USA Network that’s produced by Alison Grodner and Mich Meehan, producers of Big Brother.
In the time since his Idol appearance in 2004, Rogers has hosted GSN’s Beat the Chefs, Discovery Channel’s Really Big Things, CBS’ There Goes the Neighborhood and Lifetime’s Coming Home.
In the show, viewers will “meet an eclectic group of 16 adults from all walks of life – from the fanatic hunter to the former nerd-turned-supermodel to the vegan yoga instructor. Campers will pack their bags and head to an idyllic lakeside retreat, where they will indulge in over-to-top competitions inspired by classic camp games. At the end of the summer, the remaining competitors face off in the ‘Campathalon,’ an ultimate Olympic style event.”
