Andy Samberg makes subtle nod to camp job in Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Andy Samberg, star of the FOX comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, is no stranger to organizing group games and events since he worked as a campfire coordinator at Skylake Yosemite Summer Camp in Yosemite National Park.

He put those skills to work (sort of) in his role as Det. Jake Peralta recently when a white substance found in the precinct forces a lockdown in the “Lockdown” episode (Season 2, Episode 7). Left in charge in Captain Holt’s absence, Peralta is tasked with maintaining order in a precinct filled with law enforcement, lawyers and criminals.

At one point, he reminds everyone that they are in fact in a police station and not a summer camp before slipping into campfire coordinator mode for a second, asking Det. Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) if she thinks they should play capture the flag?

Santiago vetoes the idea in her usual super-serious way.
