Video Goes Behind the scenes at ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ A Cappella Camp

In the Pitch Perfect 2 sequel hitting theaters next week, the Bellas a cappella group go off to camp where they do team-building exercises and other traditional camp activities like zip lining, water sliding and a mud obstacle course.

A behind the scenes feature on A cappella camp was posted earlier this week and shows the movie’s stars getting muddy and features an interview with director/producer/star Elizabeth Banks.

Banks said the Aca-Camp scenes worked for the film on two levels.

“We always knew we wanted to find a way to bring Anna Camp back,” Banks says in the video. “But also give the Bellas an excuse to go out in the woods and be really physical.”

Going to camp marks a return to Banks’ film roots as a star in the 2001 movie Wet Hot American Summer (she’s reprising the role in the upcoming Netflix series) and also for Anna Kendrick, who starred in the 2003 movie Camp.

Pitch Perfect 2 was filmed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but it’s not clear from the video where the camp scenes were shot.

Update: The camp scenes were shot at Camp Istrouma in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana.

  1. The camp scenes look just like Glorieta NM. Google it and see the water slides and the things you jump onto in the water. It all looks like Glorieta to me.
