Boyce ‘The Voice’ performs benefit for summer camp in ‘The Soul Man’

Boyce “The Voice” Ballantine performs at a sold out benefit for Camp Shawnee in the season three premiere of TVLand sitcom The Soul Man, which was broadcast live on March 26, 2014.

Reverend Boyce (Cedric the Entertainer), an R&B star-turned minister, agrees to get his group back together to perform because he went to Camp Shawnee as a kid.

“You know Stamps and I, we went to Camp Shawnee every summer when we were kids,” he tells his wife. “It’s the first place I learned how to play hide and go get it. I didn’t ever get it though.”

The benefit concert hits a number of snags along the way, which leads to your typical sitcom hilarity, but in the end everything comes together and Boyce performs on stage with B.o.B.
