The Bravest Warriors return to the camp they went to as kids in a new storyline for the comic that begins in issue No. 30.
Camp director Mrs. Aberforth is away – she was sucked into a black hole while vacation on Elsat 5 – so the Warriors (emergency counselors) are left in charge of Camp Tribulan.
As the three-week camp begins, one of the first campers the Warriors meet Arthen, who has a shellfish allergy and a bad attitude. He starts off on the wrong foot by calling Beth Grandma, is generally critical of everything and professes to be a pacifist more interested in his game piece than participating. A chance encounter in the woods when he wanders off sets up a potential conflict down the road in the Camp Tribulon story.
The first issue of the camp storyline also introduces the cabins – Chris is counselor in Broadsword, Plum and Catbug are in Crossbow, Beth is in Heat-Seeking Missile and Danny is in Flamethrower – and has some great panels showing the different activities at camp, which is a blend of traditional summer camp activities and Bravest Warrior-type training.
