BuzzFeed News publishes oral history of 2003 movie ‘Camp’

BuzzFeed News reporter Louis Peitzman, who saw the film in the theater five times, published a lengthy oral history of the 2003 movie Camp today.

The piece includes a number of insights from director and writer Todd Graff as well as members of the cast.

Some interesting anecdotes include one about how composer Stephen Sondheim insisted on staying in one of the cabins at Stagedoor Manor instead of a nearby hotel for his cameo appearance in the film and another about how Mick Jagger agreed to let the film use “Wild Horses” for only $250 after reading the script.

The title of the piece: “The Movie That Taught A Generation of Misfits To Let Their Freak Flags Fly.”
