Camp Hometown Heroes, The Painted Turtle Benefiting From NCAA Coaches Challenge

Camp Hometown Heroes and The Painted Turtle are the charities of choice for two college basketball coaches involved in a charity challenge with other coaches.

Camp Hometown Heroes, an annual camp in Wisconsin for children who have lost a loved one serving in the military, was chosen by Marquette men’s basketball coach Steve Wojciechowski for the challenge. The Painted Turtle, a Serious Fun camp in California, was chosen by SMU men’s basketball coach Larry Brown.

Forty-eight coaches are involved in the challenge sponsored by Infiniti. The car company will donate a total of $349,000 – $100,000 will go to the winning coach’s charity and the other $249,000 will be distributed to the charities based on how far each coach advances in the competition. The winners are decided by fan voting.
