Camp T-Shirts Worn in Movies and TV Shows

Camp t-shirts are commonplace in summer camp movies and summer camp episodes of television shows, but they also make appearances in movies and television shows that otherwise don’t reference camp at all.

Below are some examples of camp t-shirts showing up in movies and television.

Andy goes off to summer camp in the 1999 movie Toy Story 2, which provided an opportunity to reference the Mickey Mouse Club serial The Adventures of Spin & Marty and the fictional summer camp they attended called Triple R Ranch. Andy wears a Triple R Ranch t-shirt in the early scenes of the movie.

Johnny ‘Dr. Fever’ Caravella (Howard Hesseman) wears a Camp Thundercloud t-shirt in a couple episodes of the TV show WKRP in Cincinnati. The fictional camp and camp shirt first appeared in the “Emily Hits the Ceiling” episode of The Bob Newhart Show (Season 3, Episode 23).

Jim Levenstein (Jason Biggs) wears a Camp Tamakwa t-shirt in the 1999 movie American Pie. It’s one of several appearances the iconic camp t-shirt makes in movies. You can read more about those appearances HERE.

Kim Kelly (Busy Philipps) wears a Camp Runamok T-shirt in the late ’90s TV show Freaks and Geeks.

Dean (Clayne Crawford) wears a Camp Cedar Falls T-shirt in the 2002 movie A Walk to Remember.
