Camp Woodhaven founders have been married for 77 years

The founders of Camp Woodhaven in Massachusetts have been married for 77 years.

The happy couple, Charlie and Anna DiPietro, were featured in an article in the Boston Globe on Valentine’s Day. They founded Camp Woodhaven on land that was part of Charlie’s father’s dairy farm more than 60 years ago.

The camp, which is now run by their grandson George DeTellis, honored the couple on their 75th anniversary with a “Got Grit” award, the camp’s highest honor, according to a 2014 newsletter.

Charlie was 21 and Anna was almost 18 when they were married on June 25, 1939. He will be 98 in May and she turns 96 in July.
