Canadian rocker’s used shoes fetch $21,000 for rock camp

Canadian rocker Mac DeMarco’s used size 10 Vans fetched $21,000 in an eBay auction benefiting the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls.

DeMarco claims to have worn the shoes, which he autographed for the auction, for the better part of 2014 on the road and on the stage.

Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls was founded in 2004 by a group of New York City women musicians and “empowers girls and women through music education, volunteerism, and activities that foster self-respect, leadership skills, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.”

Below is the video for DeMarco’s song “Ode to Viceroy” off his 2012 album 2.
