Guitarist Tracii Guns recently took to social media to pay tribute to his days at summer camp. He posted the below image with the message “Me at 11 I’ve always been a nature boy #summercamp #1977 #campjcamalibu.”
The L.A. Guns guitarist, who has also played in the supergroups Brides of Destruction and Contraband and was briefly in the first lineup of Guns N’ Roses, talked about his summer camp experience in a 2011 interview with Sounds Like New.
“One of my first performances was at summer camp for about 150 people,” he said. “My drummer Dave Melford played on two trash cans. Dani Tull played bass out of a pig nose and I plyed my les Paul through a Zeus practice amp. There was no PA . We played mongoloid by DEVO. It was great!”
