D.J. Caruso’s ‘Standing Up’ Releasing On DVD/VOD Aug. 20

D.J. Caruso’s film version of Brock Cole’s beloved young adult novel The Goats is slated for release on DVD and VOD on Aug. 20 by ARC Entertainment (Amazon’s DVD pre-order lists a date of Sept. 3).

The film, starring Chandler Canterbury, Annalise Basso, Radha Mitchell and Val Kilmer, tells the story of two victims of a cruel prank at Camp Tall Pine that leaves them stranded on Goat Island. Rather than return to camp and face humiliation, the campers take off on a three-day adventure of self discovery.

While the new poster, complete with a “Family Approved” sticker paints it as a colorful family film, the movie itself has much more of an indie flare than that – think a darker Moonrise Kingdom set in the ’80s.
