David Wain says more Netflix episodes of ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ possible

Wet Hot American Summer creator David Wain says the Netflix series reboot of the 2001 comedy could extend beyond the eight episodes slated to debut in July.

“I think there’s plenty more to do,” Wain said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “If it all works out, it’d be great.”

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp debuts on Netflix on July 17 and will chronicle the first day of camp at Camp Firewood in 1983. The original movie was set on the last day of camp in 1981.

Most of the original stars – Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks and more – are returning along with newcomers like Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, John Slattery, Chris Pine and Jason Schwartzmann.
