Director for ‘Lumberjanes’ movie announced

The upcoming movie adaptation of the popular comic series Lumberjanes has a director.

Emily Carmichael (The Adventures of Ledo and Ix) has been named by 20th Century Fox to direct the film, which has already had a draft of the script written by Will Widger. The project is reportedly listed as a priority by the studio.

Like the comic, the film is being produced by Boom! Studios. First published two years ago, Lumberjanes was created by Shannon Watters, Noelle Stevenson, Grace Ellis and Brooke Allen and has sold half a million copies.
