Emmy Award-Winning Actress Merritt Wever went to Camp Kinderland

Actress Merritt Wever, seen far left in the photo above from her camp days at Camp Kinderland, won a Primetime Emmy on Sunday night for her supporting actress role on the Showtime series Nurse Jackie. Her speech after receiving the award for her portrayal of Zoey Barkow: “Thanks so much. Thank you so much. I gotta go. Bye.”

Filmmaker Katie Halper (pictured far right), posted the photo of her, another friend and Wever, on Facebook. Halper recently returned to Camp Kinderland to film a documentary called Commie Camp.

Wever touched briefly on her time at the “liberal Jewish summer camp” in a 2010 interview with Vulture in which she mentioned singing Yiddish, pro-union and pro-labor songs at the camp.
