Immersive play ‘The Last Hurrah at Camp Maine’ invites audience back to camp

A Maine theater will be inviting audiences to the fictional Camp Maine for a production August 22, 28 and 29.

The Last Hurrah at Camp Maine will take place around the 11-acre property of Celebration Barn Theater in South Paris with the audience serving as camp alumni attending a reunion.

“We invite them to imagine that they all have a personal history with this fictional summer camp,” the description of the production states. “Whether you are an audience member who prefers to sit back and watch or one who wants to get close to the action, it’s designed to be fun for everyone.”

Jeff Wirth, a New York writer who is the artistic director of the performance ensemble Playing with Reality, wrote “Camp Maine.” ¬†The cast includes Celebration Barn veterans Michael Miclon, Amanda Huotari and Fred Garbo as well as actors from Washington state and Colombia.
