Kellogg’s responds to petition, brings Smorz Cereal back

smorz_packProving that when the nation responds Battle Creek listens, Kellogg’s is bringing back its popular s’mores-inspired cereal.

Kellogg’s discontinued Smorz in 2013 and while they did add a s’mores-flavored version of its Krave cereal, fans immediately started expressing their disappointment in comments here and elsewhere. Noticing this as I do a lot of s’mores-related news for this site, I started a petition over at Change.org to bring Smorz back.

More than 600 people signed the petition, which prompted Kellogg’s to action.

The new boxes are identical to the old ones, only with an orange band across the top that says “You asked for it it’s back!!”

I had a couple bowls of Smorz this morning courtesy of a care package that arrived from Kellogg’s. The “crunchy graham cereal wrapped in rich chocolately coating with marshmallows” has never tasted better.

Kellogg’s was also kind enough give me boxes to share with the first 50 fans who respond. To get a free box, send your shipping info to SmorzIsBack@kellogg.com with the subject line “Summer Camp Smorz.”

When you get your box, be sure to post a photo on Twitter with the hashtag #SmorzIsBack and tag @campculture.
