‘La La Land’ producer gets shout from his summer camp for gracious gesture at Oscars

La La Land producer Jordan Horowitz was at the center of one of the most awkward and inexplicable snafus in Oscar history on Sunday when he and the team behind the movie were mistakenly told they had won Best Picture instead of Moonlight.

Incredibly, when Horowitz and the other people on stage realized what had happened the producer displayed the kind of sportsmanship and grace under pressure that is so often taught and reinforced at summer camp.

“I’m gonna be really proud to hand this to my friends from ‘Moonlight,'” he said to applause.

It should come as no surprise that the Maine summer camp, Camp Takajo, where Horowitz attended as a kid would give a shout out to their how even more famous alumnus on Facebook.
