Labor Day Weekend music festival coming to Pennsylvania summer camp

Summer music festivals have been taking cues from a traditional overnight summer camp experience for years, but a new festival coming to Northeastern Pennsylvania is taking the summer camp inspiration one step further.

The Campfire Outdoor Adventure & Music Festival presented by Zippo will be held at an actual summer camp, Camp Lavi in Lakewood, Pennsylvania, over Labor Day Weekend on Aug. 29, 30 and 31.

Bands like Lake Street Dive, Langhorne Slim & the Law, Delta Spirit and dozens of other acts will be playing at the three-day festival, which promises a host of traditional summer camp activities to complement the music and adult summer camp atmosphere. Some of those activities include a postcard sending station, Cabin Spirit contest, corn hole tournament, Costume Slam Dunk contest, Campfire 5K, canoeing, kickball, water ziplines and more.

According to media reports, the festival promoter Steve Kops is an alumnus of the co-ed camp that is described on its website as “the ultimate sports camp in a Torah environment.”
