  1. Just looking at the photos here bring back such vivid remembrances. I was probably somewhere in that circle (I think my dates at LCF were in the late 40s – early 50s), and that was my cabin at least a couple years before I lived with other JCs in La Grange. And how I can remember the temperature of that water when the “kids” insisted that I jump in, after I’d asked them to! I still have two LCF songbooks, and when we got together over the years, Nancy (Ellsworth) Brandauer and I would sing from those same books–amazed at how much we remembered. My dear friend Nancy died last March (2014) in Boulder CO, and I miss her enormously. About 65 years of dear friendship that started at LCF.

    1. Hello, I also went to LCF as did my sister, Sherry Shoop. I’ve been trying to find a copy of the songbook. Would you know where I can get one?
      Thank you,

  2. I am looking for info about the island that was part of French Camp–it was called Elsa’s Isle.
    Any info???

  3. We just purchased the island and are working on restoration. We have put new roofs on both cabins and cleaned up much of the decades of blow-down. Do you remember there ever being a well on the island?? Was there an eagles’ nest above the main cabin?
    Thanks–
    Joyce

  4. I loved this camp! I attended for two or three years when I was fairly young, in 1967, 68 and i think 69; i went back as a counselor in 1978 or 79. I understand it closed but would love to learn more! I miss it!
