New book shares memories of John Wooden’s summer camp

51iuSup07CL._SX322_BO1,204,203,200_A former coach at one of legendary UCLA coach John Wooden’s summer camps has released a new book inspired by his experiences at the camp called Camp with Coach Wooden: Shoes and Socks, the Pyramid and “A Little Chap.”

Setting the book during a fictional week of camp, author and coach Greg Hayes shares stories and anecdotes of Wooden’s time at the camp he ran long after his retirement from the public spotlight of coaching UCLA basketball and winning national championships.

The Hall of Fame coach led UCLA to 10 national championships, including seven straight from 1967 to 1973. He retired from coaching in 1975 and died in 2010. His camp was held at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.
