Openly gay boy scout summer camp leader hired in New York

An openly gay Eagle Scout has been hired as a summer camp leader in New York despite the ban on openly gay adult members by the national organization of The Boy Scouts of America.

According to news reports, the Boy Scouts’ New York chapter has hired 18-year-old Eagle Scout Pascal Tessier as summer camp leader. The 103-year-old New York scout group serves more than 46,000 scouts and offers camp programs at Ten Mile River Scout Camps in Narrowsburg, N.Y., Alpine Scout Camp in Alpine, N.J. and Pouch Day Camp in Staten Island, N.Y.
