Documentary ‘Pictures From Camp’ chronicles life at camp for kids battling cancer

Pictures From Camp is a 24-minute documentary made in 1992 that chronicles life at a summer camp for young people battling cancer. The film was directed by Jeth Weinrich and supported by the Canadian Cancer Society. The camp was called Camp Cancare, but it’s not clear where the film was shot. Camp Horizon is mentioned in the credits but there are a number of camps named Horizon and a search for Camp Cancare didn’t yield any results.

Shot in black and white and color, the film features some poignant interviews with campers and shots of the many activities at camp as well as interviews with staff. The soundtrack features songs from Bob Marley, Enya, John Hiatt and others.
