Rashida Jones: Amy Poehler ‘the best camp counselor’

In an interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Parks and Recreation‘s Rashida Jones describes Amy Poehler, the show’s star, as “the best camp counselor you could possibly imagine where you don’t even know that she’s your leader…because you’re having such a good time.”

Perhaps this is because Amy Poehler played the part of Susie, one of the best camp counselors you could possibly imagine, in the 2001 cult film Wet Hot American Summer. Poehler also spent time earlier in her career as a camper at fictional camp Camp Kalterman in the Upright Citizen Brigade’s “Bug Juice” sketch and started her own fictional camp referenced in an episode (“Woman of the Year”) of Parks and Recreation called Camp Athena for Troubled Girls.
