Real-life Beverly Goldberg once met John Phillips at summer camp

The real-life Beverly Goldberg of The Goldbergs fame, who is quite active (and funny) on Twitter, recently shared a summer camp anecdote in response to a question about her musical tastes.

She was asked if she liked Wilson Phillips and this was her response:

The late John Phillips was the leader of the vocal group The Mamas & the Papas and the father of the Phillips part of the popular ’90s vocal pop group featuring his daughter Chynna Phillips and Brian Wilson’s daughters Carney and Wendy. Sing it with me now, “Someday somebody’s gonna make you wanna turnaround and say goodbye…”

Stagedoor Manor, the popular performing arts camp in upstate New York Adam Goldberg attended as a kid, hasn’t been referenced on the ABC comedy now deep into its third season. So far, the closest the show has gotten to summer camp is a passing reference to Adam attending magic camp and another brief reference to his sister Erica’s time at camp.

Perhaps one of the remaining episodes of the season will follow Adam to camp.
