Rivers Cuomo Wants To Start Weezer Summer Camp

Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo didn’t have news to share about any new material for the rock band he fronts in a recent interview with Australia’s Herald Sun, but he did have some potentially exciting news about another project in the works:

“We’d like to put together some sort of Weezer camp, but we’re just beginning to talk about it, so I don’t have any details yet,” he says.

Like a summer camp?

“Yeah,” he says, laughing.

Though this particular comment seems like an offhand remark by the lead singer of a quirky band, famous people starting summer camps isn’t as far-fetched as the thought of Camp Weezer may sound. Actor Paul Newman founded the Hole In The Wall Gang camps, singer Mariah Carey has a Fresh Air Fund camp named after her and country star Zac Brown has a summer camp in Georgia.
