Screenplay about creative summer camp fundraiser makes The Black List

A screenplay about a nerdy high school kid who sets out to create a “Swimsuit Issue” with his friends at Westbury High to raise money for summer camp was one of the unproduced screenplays to make The Blacklist for 2014.

The Black List recognizes the best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood each year as voted on by studio executives. Previous scripts that made the list include critically acclaimed films like Slumdog Millionaire, Argo, The King’s Speech, Foxcatcher, Whiplash and The Imitation Game.

The Swimsuit Issue script was written by Randall Green, who was also honored earlier this year with a spot on the Columbia University School of the Arts Blue List, a screenwriting competition for recent Columbia graduates.
