Seinfeld’s George Costanza was a summer camp waiter

George Costanza, the iconic ’90s television character on Seinfeld, worked as a waiter at a summer camp. A fat camp, in fact.

George (Jason Alexander) references his former summer camp job in “The Busboy” episode (Season 2, Episode 3) when discussing with Jerry a bus boy at a restaurant who ended up getting fired because of a comment he made.

The passing camp references wasn’t actor Jason Alexander’s first brush with fictional summer camp. His first film role was as a summer camp counselor at Camp Blackfoot named Dave in the 1981 horror movie The Burning.
