Transformers star Shia LaBeouf stopped by the Late Show with David Letterman on Monday and talked about his summer camp experience when Letterman asked him if he was “one of those kids that went to camp in the summer.”
Shia: “We were broke, I mean, you know we went to all the free camps which were usually religious camps. I went to Christian camp where you would take a hike for 12 miles and then you would wash everyone’s feet like the apostles did. I went to Jewish camp. My mom sent me to a Buddhist camp where you would sit in an ashram and hum for five days. I was really looking to just make lanyards and camp stuff. And atheist camps are actually too expensive so I went to all the other ones.”
David: “Did you enjoy this experience or not?”
Shia: “I did. I went to camp. I made friends.”
Shia also made a few enemies at camp, according to the Was Shia LaBeouf A Summer Camp Jerk? post from Gawker. Transformers: Dark of the Moon, LaBeouf’s third Transformers movie, opens in theaters today.
