Summer camp alum impresses on NBC’s ‘The Voice’

Seventeen-year-old Caroline Pennell impressed the celebrity coaches with a rendition of Ellie Goulding’s “Anything Could Happen” on the season 5 premiere of NBC’s The Voice Monday night and also gave a shout-out to her Maine summer camp on national television.

The high school student from Saddle River, N.J. mentioned singing for the first time in public at Camp Mataponi and noted it was also the place where she gained enough confidence to consider auditioning for the show, which features famous summer camp alumnus Adam Levine as one of the celebrity coaches. After passing the blind audition, Pennell chose Cee Lo to coach her through the competition.
