‘Summer Camp Island’ animated short film added to Sundance

An animated short film about a strange island summer camp has been added to the 2017 Sundance Film Festival lineup.

The short by Julia Pott was originally created as a pilot for Cartoon Network and has screened at several other film festivals, including SXSW and Toronto International Film Festival.

The official description for the short:

Oscar and his best friend, Hedgehog, just got dropped off at summer camp. Once the parents leave the island, the strangeness lurking beneath the surface is revealed—aliens exist, horses become unicorns and there are monsters under the bed.

The Sundance Film Festival will be held January 19-29.
