Summer Camp News & Notes – Week of Feb. 26

Wet Hot American Summer star Michael Ian Black has a book coming out where he talks about his 20-year marriage and hopefully makes a passing reference or two to his time at a summer camp as a kid and as a fictional camp counselor.

-Comedian Martin Short led a star-studded lineup at a ping pong fundraiser for Jewish summer camps in Toronto this week. Other celebrities on hand were singer Chantal Kreviazuk, Carla Collins, Ellen Dubin, former Maple Leaf greats Gary Leeman and Wendell Clark, Raptor Amir Johnson, John Salley, Kiowa Gordon, and actor William Baldwin.

-Siobhan, one of two characters Sarah Michelle Gellar plays on the CW show Ringer, is apparently a big fan of the fictional movie Summer Camp Slasher. It’s a good thing there are other bloggers out there watching that show close enough to make discoveries like this one – I couldn’t even get through the trailer for the show.

-Author Susan Cain starts off her TED talk “The Power of Introverts” with a story about her experience as an introvert at summer camp.

What did I miss this week?
