Summer camp-themed bar no longer happening in Washington D.C.

A summer camp-themed bar slated to open this month in Washington D.C. is sadly not becoming a reality.

According to the Washington City Paper: “Washingtonians will have to look elsewhere to mix alcohol with bunk-bed and canoe-tipping nostalgia. Landlord and developer Edens has pulled the plug on the bar.”

The BBQ Joint chef and owner Andrew Evans was planning to team up with restaurateur brothers Ian and Eric Hilton on the concept, but things fell through when there was a push-back on the concept, which included offering summer camp staples like sloppy joe, Mac and Cheese and s’mores and cereal at all hours.

“We got pretty far down the road, and they were kind of pushing back on the concept a little bit,” Hilton told the City Paper.
