tobyMac has song about summer camp on latest album

Christian pop/hip-hop star tobyMac has a song on his latest album about the Christian camp he attended when he was 13.

The song, called “Love Broke Thru,” talks about the “tall oak trees” at the camp and how he made a commitment to his faith there that has impacted his life ever since. The song mentions Pennsylvania but not the name of the camp.

Toby (who went by Toby McKeehan in those days) was invited to the camp by a youth pastor at his church in Virginia.

“When I was 13 years old the youth pastor asked me to go to a summer camp,” he said in an interview back in February. “He described it as a basketball camp because he knew my friends and I liked basketball. Some friends and I signed up.”

The album, This Is Not A Test, was released in August. It’s the former DC Talk member’s seventh solo album.

  1. Just out of curiosity would you happen to know the name of the camp Toby mac attended? We have an old Christian camp by our home that used to be huge and people from all around came to it. It was called Living Waters!
