Tulsa church selling Dry Gulch USA summer camp

A Tulsa, Oklahoma-based church is selling the property it has used to host summer camps and a popular Christmas Train experience.

Church on the Move Pastor Willie George announced the decision to sell Dry Gulch USA in services this morning.

“After five years of soul-searching, prayer, and careful deliberation with our leadership team, I have decided to sell our facilities at Dry Gulch USA,” George said in a statement on the church’s website. “This has not been an easy decision for us to make but we believe the timing is right.”

George said a national real estate agency has been hired to market the property. The church will still operate camps this summer, retreats and the Christmas Train this holiday season.

Dry Gulch USA opened in 1986 near Lake Hudson when George was host of the western-themed Christian kids show The Gospel Bill Show. The western-themed camp based on the fictional town from the show has hosted an estimated 2 million people at summer camps, retreats and the Christmas Train.

Pop singer Katy Perry attended the camp as a kid.
