Wes Anderson has officially blown my mind. The modern day filmmaking genius (Rushmore, Life Aquatic, Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox) has finally tackled a subject that was just aching for him to explore: summer camp.
As you can see in the trailer released today, the movie is set at least in part at the Boy Scout camp Camp Ivanhoe, circa 1965. The summer camp elements shown promise that Moonrise Kingdom will be one of the most unique and visionary movies to ever capture the summer camp experience.
Oh yeah, and did I mention Bill Murray is in it?
The story follows two 12-year-olds who fall in love and run away, sending the town into a panic. Bruce Willis (the sheriff) and Edward Norton (the scoutmaster) and Frances McDormand round out the star-studded cast.
I. Can’t. Wait.

…I’ll take…and the boy with the patch on his eye!” I love it.
