‘Wet Hot American Summer’ soundtrack being released on vinyl

Wet Hot American Summer never did well enough at the box office to warrant a release of its soundtrack but 15 years later a combination of the film’s popularity and the demand for vinyl records has made a vinyl release a reality.

Online store Mondo is partnering up with Rusted Wave Records for the release, which begins shipping in July. The deluxe gatefold release will feature the original score by Theodore Shapiro and Shudder to Think frontman Craig Wedren and original songs by Wedren, Peter Salett and Mr. Blue & Chubb Rock.

The song “Higher and Higher” was previously released as a 7-inch single but this is the first time the entire soundtrack is being released in any form. A digital download will be included with the release and digital downloads will also be available at iTunes, Amazon and other outlets.
